Hydrotherapy is the art of water treatment, includes orthopedic and neurological rehabilitation for children, swimming lessons, and groups treatment. In recent years’ water treatment has gained momentum, many hydrotherapy pools have been built and patients have increased their awareness to the treatment. Doctors and HMOs have risen their use of this treatment considerably, and it has become necessary to allocate a treatment of quality in this field.
The aim of the course is to train professional therapists of hydrotherapy. The program will include the fundamentals of anatomy, physiology, neurology, psychology, rehabilitation, understanding the medium of water as a treatment area, plus giving diagnosis and planning treatment of various pathologies. We will learn therapeutic techniques and exercises in the water. Students can choose the sector of rehabilitation with which to expertise: the orthopedic and neurological, teaching swimming lessons, working with infants, groups treatments for different populations, and of course treatments & fun.
One of the methods of treatment is Watsu. this type of treatment is a Shiatsu style therapy in water. Watsu promotes the idea that human care is connected with the inner feeling, therefore to calm a patient down makes for a better treatment. The pracicioner should be able to feel the needs of the patient during treatment, bringing a state of relaxation and calmness of mind.
All lecturers such as the pediatrician, the psychologist and the occupational therapist.are highly experienced in their field, with professional experience in treatment for many years.
